Antique and rare pair of shibayama and gilded antimony whist or Bezique markers. Of very fine quality with a background of Cranes in foliage cast in high relief and with two colour gilding on a silver background. Each marker has eight hinged ivory enumerators and each one has a separate hand carved shell or hardstone insect set in the ivory. Every one is in perfect and unrestored condition. There is a little rubbing on the background silver where the base colour has come through but this in no way spoils the effect. Circa 1900. Each 3.75 inches wide by 2.25 inches deep by .5 inches high ( 9.375 cm by 5.625 cm by 1.25 cm)
