Antique ivory and silver seal modelled as a seated hound sitting on an Acanthus flower base with reeded sides and reeded top to seal. Superbly carved dog, wearing collar, great detail and a lovely colour to the ivory after being handled for so many years. The seal has a lion standing with an arrow in its mouth to the centre and the latin inscription "HAUD SECUS IN BONIS" around the outside. Probaly English and probably late 18th or early 19th century. Overall height 2.375 inches ( 5.94 cm) height of dog 1.25 inches ( 3.125 cm)
