Antique English Regency ormolu and white marble mantel timepiece with eight day chain fusee movement. The superb circular ormolu dial with engine turned decoration with swirling decoration to the centre, Arabic numerals and blued steel heart shaped hands. The ormolu bezel again of outstanding quality with concentric patterns of decoration.the back plate signed 'T. Moss, Ludgate Street, London'. Fine and heavy Vulliamy style pendulum. The drum case on volute scroll moulded supports, the rectangular white marble base with applied fruit and flower festoon, on engine turned ormolu bun feet. 7.5 inches high by 5.5 inches wide by 3.5 inches deep ( 18.75 cms by 13.75 cm by 8.75 cm) Circa 1820. Thomas Moss apprenticed in 1775, joined the Clockmakers' Company in 1785, became liveryman in 1801 and died in 1827.
