Antique early 19th century Gothic watch holder in gilt bronze. Set upon a heavy and elaborately decorated base this Gothic fantasy of a wantch holder has reeded columns to each side with Gothic arch and rosettes. Most unusually the two reeded columns are surmounted by men's heads with bandages covering opposing eyes. The decoration carries on past the watch viewing window to a gothic finial. The watch sits in a reeded bowl. Circa 1830. 10.5 inches high by 5 inches wide and 3 inches deep ( 26.25 cm by 12.5 cm by 7.5 cm).
