Italian antique marble bust of Venus on rotating marble socle. Superbly carved white statuary Carrera marble head and bust of the famous Grand Tour Venus di Medici. Extremely heavy and dense marble with superb finish. Excellent detail, the hair is quite outstanding. Italian circa 1840. 21 inches high by 12 inches wide on a 7 inch diameter socle ( 52.5 cm by 27.5 cm by 17.5 cm).
