Rare antique Industrial Clock of a workman operating a steamhammer. The steamhammer which is actually part of the pendulum moves vertically up and down. The pendulum receives it's propulsion remotely from the clock movement by a series of levers. The case retains it's original matt silver finish to the steamhammer and the base. The clock housing, the copper finish, and all stands upon a black slate base. The movement is of 8 day duration and strikes the hours and halves on a gong. France circa 1890. Movement is marked on the backplate Medaille D'Or GLT Btf SG G Paris and numbered 1818.
