Antique French Empire clock of a Bacchante lying on her day bed. A really fine, original & complete version of this famous clock. The woman lies back on her day bed with grape vines in her hands. The bed is decorated with representations of the bacchanal, viz. pan pipes, ewers, cups & vines. The bed is held up with legs decorated as Pan. To the base is a fine applied ormolu mount of two lions eating from a loaded table. All standing on barrel feet. Fine conves whte enamel dial signed L. Ravrio bronzier a Paris and below Mesnil Hr..
