Superb antique pair of "Bois Durci" plaques after the designs of
Both plaques in virtually mint condition.
The left hand plaque having a semi draped nymph lying on her side by a harp with to her right two children playing musical instruments, one a flute or horn and the other a violin.
The righ hand plaque has another semi draped nymph reading a book while she is played to by children on lute and cymbals.
France circa 1860.

"Bois Durci" ( invented and patented in France and England in 1854 by Francois Charles Lepage and is a mixture of sawdust and albumen).
