Antique French mantel clock of Greek Revolutionary Hero.
Of good size with fine original mercury gilding on bronze with silvered bronze horse and base.
Set upon an impressive ormolu freize wth bracket feet the clock rises to a naturalistic rocky outcrop into which is set the clock dial and mechanism.
Standing on the top and holding the bridle of his horse stands the Greek Hero in traditional Greek dress holding his sword in his other hand and with trophies of the Turks he has slain below his horse.
The dial is silvered and has moon form hands.
The mechanism is of eight day duration, regulated by a silk suspended pendulum and strikes the hours and halves on a bell.
