Fabulous antique French Charles X clock with Hellenistic interest being a Turk or Ottoman mounted horseman. Set upon a fine naturalistic base the horse and his rider stand upon a naturalistic base with plants to the front. The horse, an Arab stallion beautifully cast and finished in silvered bronze with ormolu harness. The fearsome Turkish horseman in traditional dress with sword in hand and blunderbuss on his back. An outstanding model. White enamel dial with blued steel hands ( one to be repaired), and a silk suspended eight day movement, striking the hours and halves on a bell. French circa 1828. 24 inches high by 15.5 inches wide by 5.5 inchs deep ( 60 cm by 38.25 cm by 13.75cm).
