A magnificent Palais Royal ecrier and stationary casket.
The casket with a very fine ormolu frame in bands decorated with flowers stands upon four superb ormolu winged paw feet.
The lock escutcheon to the front is in the form of ormolu corcucopis. To the back of the casket giving support to the frame are ormolu cupids holding a vase of flowers between them. Every piece of ormolu is of first quality and all the ormolu is original.
The mother of pearl panels are beautifully engraved and in excellent condition. The central oval panel to the opening lid of the casket is engraved with a basket of flowers and is held in place by further ormolu mounts.
To the centre is a cut glass dish which could have been used as a pin tray or for a holder for a sponge.
