Antique pair of unusually fine bronzes of Rousseau and Voltaire. Very fine patinated bronze sculptures of these famous figures of French life of the late 18th century. Clothed in 18th century dress the bronzes illustrate very fine detail to the clothing and also to the faces. Set upon fine rouge marble bases terminating in a patinated bronze base with excellent stiff leaf and dart moulding. France circa 1840. 8.5 inches high by 2.75 inches square at the base ( 21.25 cm by 6.875 cm).
