Antique and superb pair of French Empire ormolu candlesticks. Of a beautiful design and with mint original ormolu. The circular base with concentric circles of fine spiral and shell pattern. The stem waisted leading to a cup decorated with patterns of leaves and triangles. The stem with various patterns of leaves, cross hatching, spiral decoration leading to fiurther leaf decoration , cross hatching and then stars. The candle holder with matching patterns and matching drip pan. These candlesticks are of really outstanding quality and date from circa 1815 11.5 inches high by 5.25 inches diameter of base (28.75cm by 13.125 cm)
