Antique pair of French Charles X period ormolu tazzas.
Of very high quality indeed the casting is exceptional and the gilding is entirely original.
Set upon square bases the tazza sits on a circle of ormolu decoration. The side of the circle is set with a Greek Key pattern while the moulding is of beautiful leaf pattern.
The cylindrical stem is decorated throughout with flowers within a hexagon design.
The stem leads to a cap whose lower moulding has a design of vine leaves.
The foot of the cup is waisted but has a swirling design at its lower edge.
This all rises to the cup of the Tazza which have three beautiful bands of decoration, firstly a thin band of leaf and bud decoration, then to the centre a thicker band of flower heads and a final band of leaf and bud.
Finally the upper rim of the tazza has a band of decoration which is of leaf and flower, quite beautifully done.
