Antique English boulle casket ( red tortoiseshell and inlaid brass). Of superior quality and in very good condition. Of contra parti boulle the scarlet stained tortoiseshell works a kind of magic with the cut brass. Comes with working lock and key. The interior lined with satinwood with two lidded containers, probably for tea. English circa 1840. 12 inches wide by 6 inches high by 8 inches deep ( 30 cm by 15 cm by 20 cm).
