Antique silver mounted tortoiseshell carriage clock with strike and repeat

Antique silver mounted tortoiseshell carriage clock with strike and repeat
Antique silver mounted tortoiseshell carriage clock with strike and repeat. It is very unusual for a tortoiseshell clock to have a striking mechaism, 99% are timepieces only. It is even more rare to find one with a strike and repeat mechanism which this clock has. Excellent dial Arabic numerals and blued steel hands. Well hallmarked silver mounts to all corners, silver handle, feet and hinges. 8 day movement with platform lever escapement, striking the hours and halves on a gong. Pressing the button on the top of the case repeats the last hour ( useful if you want to see the time at night without turning on the light). In excellent condition throughout. One small hairline crack to top of left hand side. Only really noticeable with enlarged photo. London 1902 and marked for Harry Wright Atkin. 5.5 inches high by 3.125 inches wide and 2.625 inches deep ( 13.75cm by 7.8 cm by 6.56cm).
