An early 19th century French Empire ormolu mantel clock. The subject is of a lady in Classical dress seated on a tasselled cushion, attended by a cherubwith a playful dog jumping up at her side representing fidelity. The rectangular base applied with flaming braziers and oval lotus paterae. All set upon fine toupee feet. The white enamel convex dial inscribed with Roman and subsidiary Arabic numerals. 8 day bell striking movement. 14.5 inches high (36.5cm).
