Gothic revival pastille burner of exquisite quality. French and early 19th century. The lid pierced and domed in patinated bronze having a beaded outer rim and an ormolu cap with Gothic design and finished with a patinated bronze finial. The pierced tracery patinated bronze urn top with an ormolu waist falling to the gadrooned patinated bronze cup. The waisted patinated bronze stem with gothic decoration. The unusual and fitting rouge marble stem with an ormolu cap to the top with trefoil design and a fine base with trefoil and gothic arch decoration in both ormolu and patinated bronze. All set on a square rouge marble base. The ormolu has not been cleaned but is clearly in mint condition ( and can be cleaned if required) and of a subtle colour that suits the piece as a whole. French circa 1830. 9.5 inches high by 4.5 inch diameter and 3.25 inches square at the base ( 23.75 cms by 11.25 cms by 8.125 cms).
