Antique rare fleurospar mounted carriage clock signed by Ed. Chartier, Paris
Lovely and very rare carriage clock in a Corniche case with all five panels mounted in fleurospar. The circular dial of convex white enamel bordered by a fine bezel. The dial with Roman hour numerals and Arabic minutes at the quarters. The hands of blued steel. The clock strikes the hours and halves on a gong. It also has an alarm function striking the gong on a second hammer. This is activated through a second small enamel dial mounted on the back plate of the movement. The clock is signed both on the movement at the base and also inside the backplate of the movement. France circa 1880. 5.25 inches high with handle down by 3.5 inches wide by 3 inches deep (13.125 cm by 8.75 cm by 7.5 cm).
