English late Regency Cupid paperweight in patinated bronze and lacquered gilt bronze. The kneeling figure of the winged cupid holds up in each hand an arched swag of flowers in ormolu. He kneels upon a gilt bronze platform with leaf and dart moulding. Below this a patinated bronze square base and below that a further ormolu base with leaf and dart moulding once more. Extremely attractive, English dating from circa 1820-30. 5.5 inches high by 3.375 inches square at the base ( 13.75 cm by 8.44 cm)
