Fine antique French Empire pair of ormolu candlesticks with original hand cut threads. A very elegant pair of candlesticks with original ormolu. On a circular base decorated around the edge with stiff leaf and harebell decoration and with further decoration within the leaf. Another concentric circle of ivy leaf decoration closer to the stem which stands on three paw feet. The stem itself is octagonal and flares upwards toa ring above also decorated with a ring of ivy leaves. The candle holder itself is ribbed. Lovely original rods and threads. France circa 1815. 10.25 inches high by 5.25 inches diameter at the base ( 25.625 cm by 13.125 cm).
