Antique animalier bronze of a Bloodhound by Jules Bertrand Gelibert. This is a fine study of Napoleon III's own favourite dog, Druid. A wonderful study of this beautiful and noble hound. Excellent hand finishing and a beautiful deep brown patination. With a brass plaque to the front where this bronze was given as a prze at a dog show in Rouen in 1892. Signed in the bronze Jules Gelibert. 13.5 inches high by 11 inches wide by 6.5 inches deep ( 34.25 cm by 27.5 cm by 6.5 cm).
