A lovely and very fine antique bronze of a naked girl leaning on a stand talking to a parrot. Beautifully sculpted and superbly finished. The girl has the most voluptuous figure and the detail throughout is outstanding. The bronze is signed Susse Freres but the sculpture is reminiscent of James Pradier who was an early client and collaborator with Susse Freres from the 1840's. Jean-Jacques Pradier, born Genève 1790 and died Paris 1852. French 19th century 14 inches high by 6.5 inches wide by 5inches deep ( 35 cm by 16 cm by 12.5 cm).
