Antique Pair of French ormolu and white marble ewers of outstanding quality. Set on square ormolu bases with stiff leaf and dart decoration rising to a gadrooned swept ormolu stem holding an ormolu cup. The body of the ewer of statuary marble the colour of an ostrich egg. The ormolu spout of flared form and with an ormolu handle formed from a winged child with fish tail standing on a goats head step above an ormolu strap of vine leaves and grapes eluding to the use of the ewer. A beautiful shape and of lovely condition with otiginal gilding. France circa 1880. 13.5 inches high by 6.25 inches wide and 3.5 inches square at the base ( 33.75 cm by 15.6 cm by 8..75 cm).
