Antique French Empire miniature ormolu mantel clock representing Robinson Crusoe outside his hut.
Set upon a rectangular base upon toupee feet and with applied ormolu mpount of bow and quiver among plant fronds.
Set upon the base, a hut made of plant leabves.
To the right stands the figure of Robinson Crusoe in goatskin clothes with tall hat. Holding a palm frond unbrella with prrot perched on top. In his other hand he holds a rifle and he has a large knife in his belt.
A watch movement signed "Augustin Jousserandot" on white enamelled dial with single winding hole. The dial mounted in the front of the hut.
France circa 1810.
Augustin Jousserandot is mentioned in Tardy as working at Morez in 1820 ( in France not far from Swiss border).
