Antique French Napoleon III ormolu and porcelain sided mantel clock in four glass form.
The clock has fine jewelled porcelain panels on three sides including the full size dial. The porcelain has a pink ground and to the front a beautifully decorated dial with children playing within the chapters and below the dial a classical scene of a courting couple.
Each side is decorated with a pink outside border and within this and seperated with jewelling is a white ground with baskets hanging from ribbons, bird's nests, birds and butterflies.
All panels are perfect with no repairs and are marked by the factory on the inside.
The movement is of 8 day duration, key wound and striking the hours and halves on a bell. Both the original pendulum and the movement are numbered.
The dial is signed by the retailer, the famous London Jeweller W.H.Benson and gives his address above 6 o'clock as "25 Old Bond Street, London".
