An extremely elegant Antique French repeater cloissonnee enamel carriage clock, with alarm and sweeping second hand. The very decorative case with cloissonnee enamel and gilt bronze, has a lovely dial, with Roman Numerals, and a sweeping second hand, which is signed P.Kierulff and Co, Peking, and a fine small alarm dial just below, with arabic numerals. The repeater button, on top, with a handle decorated with cloissonnee enamel and gilt bronze. P. Kierulff & Co. was established in 1874 and were "general storekeepers, silversmiths, jewelers, saddlers, drapers, outfitters, wine and provision merchants, and tourists' providers. A specialty is the manufacture of the Peking enamels, so greatly admired." The movement runs for 8 days, and will strike the halfs and hours on a gong. A beautiful carriage clock.
