Fine Louis XVth 18th century porcelain and ormolu mantel clock by Etienne Lenoir

Fine Louis XVth 18th century porcelain and ormolu mantel clock by Etienne Lenoir
Fine French Louis XVth ormolu and Porcelain mantel clock. The fire gilded ormolu on this clock is entirely original and in almost mint condition. The clock sits on an extrememly fine, scrolling roccoco base. The ormolu stems and leaves look stunning, and work incredibly well with the finely detailed porcelain flowers. The centre piece of the clock is the housing for the movement, which is shaped as a porcelain flower, an extremely rare feature. The convex enamel dial is signed Etienne Lenoir, as is the backplate of the movement in full script. The dial uses turkish numerals, and features a strike/silent function, which is very rare. The 8 day movement, with bell strike, and numbered countwheel and a superb verge escapement. Etienne Lenoir were a father and son team of master clockmakers that started using the signature Etienne Lenoir from 1750. A stunningly beautiful clock. 14inches high by 12 inches long by 7inches deep French, circa 1750 -60
