A very attractive French blonde tortoiseshell bracket clock in the Louis XV style. The tortoiseshell case with applied floral ormolu mounts and feet. All original. Lovely gilt bronze dial with white enamel hour and minute chapters in both Roman & Arabic numerals, and the centre, which is signed Martinot a Paris. 8 day movement, striking the hours and halves on a gong. Stamped on the backplate of the movement with the Medaille D'Argent 1855. French circa 1870 44cm high
