Antique Industrial Series Mantel clock modelled as a mortar in gilt bronze and steel by Guilmet. Set upon a fine black marble base with gilt bronze edging. The mortar rests in a cradle with rotating axle. The dial is within a glazed ormolu bezel and is of white enamel with blued steel hands. The movement is of 8 day duration and regulated by a platform escapement. Both movement and bezel numbered 1149. Original gilding and patination. A rare piece in excellent conditon.
