Antique French Empire clock in ormolu set in an ecrier. This rare piece in entirely original mercury fired ormolu, is in superb condition. A dolphin is mounted on top of the clock/ecrier, with ink trays and pen holders wonderfully cast. Set on four bun feet, this ecrier has a fine verge fusee watch movement, set in a fine ormolu bezel. The convex white enamel dial, with roman numerals. The back of the movement is finely signed in script Freres Vaucher, who Tardy has as working in Paris in the early 19th century.
