A late Victorian novelty mantel clock, modelled in the foam of a coal scuttle by the Douglas Clock Co. With a looped carrying handle, hinged lid, with an overall hammered effect, raised on four compressed ball feet, the white enamel dial surrounded by a rope twist border, makers mark of D.C. Co., for the Douglas Clock Co., and hallmark for Birmingham 1898. height 2.5" (6.25 cms).
