A fine pair of early 19th century French Empire figural candlesticks in the style of Thomire. The classically dressed maiden stands with arms cross in finely patinated bronze. Balanced upon her head is the fire gilded ormolu sconce in tulip form. Standing atop the circular ormolu stepped base with finely cast anthemion flowers running round the base. All standing upon the patinated bronze square base.
