Antique Sub miniature Silver and Guilloche enamel Carriage Clock by the Geneva Clock Company
Beautiful sub miniature silver and guilloche enamel carriage clock of unusual design, in original silk lined leather case and original key. The wonderful, deep purple guilloche enamel with engine turned design on the front, top and sides. Painted on top of the purple enamel on all sides are floral highlights, which give the clock a quite stunning appearance. The base with interesting white enamel pattern. The white enamel dial with arabic numerals and gold hands is signed 'Haviland & Co.' for the retailer. The underside of the case is marked 'G.C.Co.' and JTC within a cartouche, for the Geneva Clock Company, perhaps the finest makers of sub miniature carriage clocks, and further marked 'Depose', numbered 4659, Argent, silver content of 0.935, and 'Sterling' The inside of the case is silver gilt, and the fine, 8 day three quarter plate movement with fourteen jewells and three adjustments is also marked on the movement 'G.C.Co' for the Geneva Clock company, 'Switzerland' and numbered 12277. Hidden in in the leather case is its original key. A wonderful quality clock, in superb condition. Swiss circa 1915. 5cm High
