A fine Palais Royal piece of a putti or child, in fire, mercury gilded ormolu. The child stand over a finely engraved piece of mother-of-pearl, the patterns of flowers, garlands and diamond shaped designs. The base is a well cast ring of ormolu decorated with anthemion. The child,standing upon one leg with the other trailing behind him, with sash trailing around him, holds his finger to his lips and holds the candle sconce resting upon his head. The sconce with fineley decorated swags and further anthemion. A very fine object d'art. French circa 1830
