This is a good sized Italian antique Grand Tour bronze of Spinario or the "Thorn Puller". A naked youth sits on a tree stump and pulls a thorn from his foot. Original patination to this attractive bronze with good detail and modelling. The original ancient bronze of the Spinario is in the Capitoline Museum in Rome and was made up from fragments of a 4th or 5th century Greek bronze. Italy circa 1900 12.5cm High by 9cm Wide
