French Charles X period ormolu mantel clock of Psyche and Cupid. A very fine example after the original late 18th century model by Claud Michalon. The two lovers entwined as Psyche holds a floral wreath over the head of Cupid. The base depicting Cupid with the hands clasped towards Psyche. The eight day movement regulated by a silk suspended pendulum and striking the hours and halves on a bell by means of a countwheel. Entirely of fine original ormolu.
