English Regency Fusee mantel Clock in ormolu and Derbyshire black marble signed French Royal Exchang
A very fine antique English Regency ormolu and black marble mantel timepiece with eight day fusee movement. The superb circular ormolu dial with engine turned decoration with swirling decoration to the centre, roman numerals and blued steel heart shaped hands. The ormolu bezel again of outstanding quality with concentric patterns of decoration. The backplate signed French, Royal Exchange, London, famous maker James Moore French. Fine and heavy pendulum. The drum case on volute scroll moulded supports, the rectangular black marble base with applied mounts depicting sphinxes, and atop the clock, sits a further ormolu mount of fruit and flowers, on engine turned ormolu bun feet. Baillie has French working in London 1810-1840. England circa 1820 27cm High by 19cm Wide
