A sublime French Empire sunflower clock in original fire or mercury gilt ormolu and patinated bronze. Wonderful detail in this sweet clock, from the detailed ormolu base, the patinated bronze centre showing flowers, to the snake, curling its way up the stem. Fine 30 hour chain fusee, english verge escapement movement. French circa 1810. 10 inches high by 5 inch diameter at base ( 25 cm by 12.5 cm).
