Antique silver and foil backed glass carriage clock by Henry Stuart retailed by Mappin and Webb

Antique silver and foil backed glass carriage clock by Henry Stuart retailed by Mappin and Webb
Very smart and chic silver carriage clock with panels of green foil backed glass. This gives a very fine effect as of guilloche enamel. White enamel dial with blued steel hands. The movement is a particular fine swiss made 8 day movement with platform lever escapement by the Geneva Clock company, with their stamp JTC and numbered 534. Usually these clocks don't have such fine movements. Silver marks for the maker Henry Stuart Brown, London and marked for the retailers Mappin and Webb, Queen Victoria Street, London. Date mark for 1895. 4.5 inches inches high by 2.5 inches wide by 2 inches deep ( 11.25 cm by 6.25 cm by 5 cm)
