A superb and very beautiful silver gilt and red guilloche enamel sub miniature carriage or boudoir clock, in its original case. This utter exquisite clock, set upon feet, the red enamel, a rare colour in mint condition, the engine turned, wavy design. Unusually, the front is set with pearls, a very rare design. White enamel dial with roman numerals and gold hands. Fine 8 day 3 quarter plate movement with platform lever escapement, numbered 1195. The underside mark with silvermarks GAS, for Goldsmiths and Silversmiths, the retailers, London silver mark, and sterling mark, as well as date mark for 1901. Also marked ETB, likely for the makers, and French silver mark. Some of these marks on side of door too. 5.7cm High without case by 2.8cm Wide and 1.8cm Deep. French, 1901
